The look and feel of natural wood is very
desirable. When it's time to re-finish the wood, home owners
are faced with hours and hours of sanding or chemical

Why Corn?
Corncob grit is considerably less aggressive
than sand, it is often categorized as a "soft abrasive".
Corncob grit does not etch glass or foul bearings and is
frequently used to clean log homes, electric motors, and
machinery with hydraulic cylinders.
Other applications
include: smoke damage and residue clean-up; mold cleaning;
plant maintenance; and loose and flaking paint removal. It is
ideal for wood, aluminum and fiberglass.
Blasting with corncob particles is accomplished with the same
equipment as used for soda blasting. ProBlast Coatings
Removal System was used to strip this home pictured to the
right.
Corn Cob was chosen as the blast media for several reasons:
-
The logs do not have to be PH neutralized
after blasting, as is the case with Soda
-
Corn is a natural product and will not
damage plants or grass
-
Corn is worker and environmentally friendly
